We are looking for Horticulturist in Oman Location
Experience required - 10-12 years in landscaping, horticulture, and irrigation.
Qualifications - Graduation/Post graduation in horticulture with experience in landscaping and horticulture.
Responsibilities:
1. Landscape Design, Development and Maintenance
a. Landscape design, maintenance, and restoration.
b. Landscaping of site with the combination of ornamental plants, trees and vegetation.
c. Prepare landscaping drawings using computer-aided design software.
d. Designing Garden plans/planting layouts.
e. Advising about tree planting schemes.
f. Maintenance and weed/pest/disease control programs.
g. Use environmentally friendly practices like compost making by waste food, garden waste, drip irrigation etc.
2. Installation and maintenance of irrigation system
a. Designing, installation, and maintenance of advanced centralized irrigation systems.
b. Testing systems for potential issues
c. Repairing and maintenance of the irrigation system.
d. Testing the soil and vegetation to determine irrigation needs.
e. Mapping out areas for irrigation installation
f. Digging trenches and installing pipes and lines.
g. Installing pumps and electrical timers.
h. Conducting routine maintenance checks.
i. Troubleshooting and replacing faulty parts of the irrigation.
j. Using Drips and Sprinklers Systems
k. Water saving initiatives.
3. Maintenance of the landscaping
a. Mowing, trimming and fertilizing green spaces.
b. Mulching, edging, and weeding gardens
c. Pruning and trimming trees and bushes
d. Maintaining all gardening equipment and machinery, like mowers, trimmers, leave blowers etc.
e. Monitoring and maintaining the health of plants.
f. Dealing with pest problems that could damage plants.
g. Keeping gardens and green spaces clear of debris and litter.
4. Landscape Lighting
a. installing and servicing outdoor lighting systems
b. Using fountains, stones and lights in the landscaping.
c. Installation of Plants and tree lighting
d. Using low voltage lighting systems including wiring methods.
e. Knowing the working parts of landscape lighting fixtures and how to properly repair
f. Diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repair electrical issues safely, efficiently, and efficiently.
B. Skills
a. In-depth knowledge of horticulture, landscaping and irrigation
b. Familiarity with landscaping design and use of AutoCAD for landscaping drawings.
c. Extensive knowledge of native plants and trees.
d. Knowledge of local pests and how to eliminate them.
e. Knowledge of synthetic and organic fertilizers
f. Knowledge of local health and safety regulations for landscaping
g. Knowledge of execution of civil works like excavation, lifting and shifting of heavy objects and trees.
h. Knowledge of soils and water quality for the irrigation purpose.
